The fair haired man sat calmly in front of a table filled with papers. To the casual onlooker there appeared to be no system. However to the muggleborn wizard behind the desk everything was easily located. Or so he had thought. But he had lost those reports. The reports he had to turn into his boss in... A quick glance at his watch told him that he had twenty three minutes before he needed to hand in the reports. He could do that. Twenty three minutes was plenty of time to find something in the organized chaos of Ted Tonks' office. He could almost hear his wife now. "You would be able to find those reports if your office was neater." Ted shook his head, his slightly shaggy blond locks, moving as he shook his head. It was time for another haircut. He blinked rapidly, and shuffled through several thick folders of paper. Where on earth were those reports?

He shuffled through the papers, accidentally elbowing the latest edition of the Prophet, knocking it onto the floor and causing it to spread it's pages across the room. Ted swore under his breath and moved from his desk to the floor, crouching so he could scoop up all of the pages that had spread everywhere. He gathered them up, not particularly caring that they got wrinkled slightly as they grabbed him. A moving picture of a witch crying into the chest of a wizard prompted Ted to unfold the paper and see what was going on. He began to read the article. It was about a muggleborn who had gone to find her parents, only to discover that they were dead on the floor of the kitchen. Apparently some Voldemort sympathizer had killed them. But whoever it was was obviously not a death eater. There had been no Dark Mark over the house. With a sigh, Ted loosened his neck tie. It was articles like this that made him worry about his parents. He didn't want someone to kill them just because he had been born.

He ran his hand through his hair, making it even messier. None of that was on purpose of course. He usually tried to look presentable at work. However Ted was no distracted by the paper. He pulled it open and began to skim the articles. He had all but forgotten about the reports. "Sir?" came a voice. "Hmm?" asked Ted. "Sir, I have those- Sir, what are you doing on the floor?" asked the tiny witch in the doorway. "I was reading," said Ted, standing as he spoke and dusting off his backside. "And I told you to call me Ted. Sir is my Dad." The witch frowned. "Yes, Sir- er Ted. As I was saying I have those reports you wanted me to look over. The ones you needed to give to Mr. Smith at three?" Ted smacked his forehead in frustration. Of course, he had given the reports to Mrs. Thompson so she could spell check them, and make sure they made some sense. A goofy grin crossed Ted's face.

"Right," he said. "Sorry, my bad. Thanks again."

The older witch handed over the reports and left Ted's office shaking her head. Ted ran his hand through his hair in an attempt to neaten it. It was time to turn in the reports and then time to head home. Home. Oh, now he was excited. He turned in his reports as soon as he could and made his way out. Apparating home was quick and simple though he made sure to apparate a block away. It wasn't a safe time to apparate directly home, besides he did enjoy walking to a degree. The short walk home was relaxing and it allowed him to sort out his thoughts. They were disorganized a little, and his mind returned to the article he had read that day. What if his parents were next. He was only now getting to understand them. His thoughts were cut off as the twenty five year old arrived at the door of his home.

He loosened his tie as he entered. Then once his coat was hung up just inside, he called out. "Hello?"

Ted kicked off his shoes, listening for the tell tale signs of life in his house. Then there came the sound of a word which still brought a smile to his face whenever he heard it in reference to himself. He was still smiling widely as a tiny figure came into view. His heart leapt slightly as she tripped and fell. He almost expected tears but he knew better, 'Dora wasn't one to cry at every little thing, something he imagined she got from her mother. He watched her bounce right back up almost instantly.

Normally Ted wasn't one to spoil his child but when he got bored at work he liked to make things using various spells and charms. Generally they were for 'Dora but occasionally he would make something for 'Dromeda. That didn't happen often of course because though they loved each other he was never sure if she actually enjoyed the gifts he made. So generally he made the gifts for 'Dora, and today was one of those days were he had gotten bored and had made something for her. Carefully he reached into the pocket of his coat and pulled out at what first glance appeared to be simply a parchment made oragami swan, but then the swan shifted and flew off of his hand over to 'Dora.

" 'Dora," he greeted, using his nickname for her. "What have you been up to, not bothering your mother I hope," he added teasingly, mischief sparkling in his eyes and a grin still on his lips.

Ted smiled as 'Dora gave him a hug. He scooped her up for a moment, spinning her around before placing her back on her feet in the exact spot she had been standing before. Absently, he ruffled her hair which had turned pink with what he had to guess was happiness. Ted appreciated that 'Dora appreciated his small gifts that he made. Sure his boss was never too happy when Ted made presents for his daughter on work time, but did Ted care? Not really, he had bigger things to worry about. Like the fact that he could go over to visit his parents at any time, only to find them dead on the ground of the home. Because he was their son. It wasn't their fault he had turned out to be a wizard. They hadn't even approved of that at first.

A dark mood passed over Ted for a moment before turning back to his daughter. "Oh good. I'm glad you weren't bugging Mommy," he said, ruffling her hair again. He watched her close her eyes, she appeared to be concentrating. Trying to make something appear, and then something did. Her drawing the one she had said she had been working on appeared in his hand. Ted smiled. He was always proud when 'Dora managed to use magic, especially since she was so young. A grin passed over his lips.

"Thats a masterpiece right there, 'Dora," he said, the grin still on his lips. "I'm sure Grandpa and Grandma would love to see what a little artist you've become," he added, "We should visit them later to show them. I'm sure they'd like to see you too."
