Welcome to Marauders :: After Hogwarts

Imagine being thrown into a magical world filled with the doom of one man and his many loyal and violent followers after seven years of being inside the safe halls of Hogwarts. For the marauders and many in their class that is the exact thing that’s going on in their lives. The year is 1978, and the Marauders and their mates have just graduated from Hogwarts. They don’t enter a world of daisies and buttercups though; they enter a world filled with pain, suffering, death, and loss. It is a far cry from the protective walls of Hogwarts School for Witchcraft and Wizardry.

Rated R for violence, strong language and adult situations.

THERE ARE THINGS WORTH DYING FOR

Somewhere out there, among the world of the regular every day people, there is a world so extraordinary it would blow their minds. It is the world of magic and it’s hiding right under their noses.

Imagine being thrown into a magical world filled with the doom of one man and his many loyal and violent followers after seven years of being inside the safe halls of Hogwarts. For the marauders and many in their class that is the exact thing that’s going on in their lives. The year is 1978, and the Marauders and their mates have just graduated from Hogwarts. They don’t enter a world of daisies and buttercups though; they enter a world filled with pain, suffering, death, and loss. It is a far cry from the protective walls of Hogwarts School for Witchcraft and Wizardry. Death eaters are rising in quantities while the Order gains members slowly, and carefully spies are also joining both sides trying to make an advantage for their own side. Every morning the sun looks a little bit darker than before and many Order members are eloping left, right and center because they don’t know if they’ll have another chance.

Meanwhile, the Order, lead by Albus Dumbledore, and the Death Eaters, lead by Lord Voldemort, wage a formerly secret war which is peeking through into the muggle world. The single sign of revolution has been the Order and yet it has turned to be deadly to know that you’re in the Order; you may very well be costing yourself your life. Earlier on an Order accidentally killed a Death Eater, leaving some evidence. Unfortunately for the Order member the Death Eater hadn’t been marked, and the Order member was messy. They left evidence and was subsequently sentenced to Azkaban. Accusations began to arouse; if the Order members were murdering innocent people how could they be the ones sent to save them? Meanwhile, at a stretch of power, many creatures such as werewolves and giants have been joining Voldemort’s death eaters. A number of death eaters have begun infiltrating the Ministry, not only joining major departments but little ones, killing vital people in those departments to make the department crash so that they could destroy the Ministry little by little. The power that the death eaters had over the Ministry gave them many liberties, and made it increasingly dangerous to be an Order member. Such liberties that the death eaters had that they began freely insulting muggleborns and blood traitors in the street, hexing them if they caught them in private, and becoming increasingly violent no matter what the audience. Worst of all, they were getting away with nearly anything they did and framing such people, trying to get them sent to Azkaban, if they even suspected for a second that they were an Order member.

Hogwarts, the castle of miracles, remains the only place where death eaters haven’t caused major damage. Although it isn’t unheard of that many of younger relatives from big pureblood families are death eater supporters there is no one with the mark on their arms and no deaths because of Voldemort’s presence. Whether that may change in this upcoming year or not is a mystery and a fear to all but so far the castle remains standing as a pure haven, a symbol to people that Voldemort has not destroyed all of goodness yet.

Although Dumbledore is the headmaster of the pure Hogwarts, he is also leader of the soiled Order. Dumbledore realized it was time for a change. He had to crack down and crack down now. The Order now has a whole set of rules it never had before in order for no one to get hurt or imprisoned for being in the Order. However, absolutely no one was happy with any of the limitations especially a lot of the younger members who were sick and tired of having their lives vandalized with such evil. Believing that the limitations were the only thing from keeping them from making a strong enough attack to destroy Voldemort they began working on their own attack apart from the rest of the Order. Meanwhile a lot of the older Order members became discouraged as their spouse, children, and entire families were getting threatened and in some cases destroyed. Being on the losing side even made some people lose their loyalties to the Order although many stayed on a thread, looking for a sign, hanging on hope they prayed wasn’t false.

But as the summer of the Marauder’s first year of freedom draws rapidly to a close, a different kind of event perches on the horizon. Death Eaters from all over London were going to be united at a single event, a wedding. Isabelle Rosier and Augustus Rookwood are to be married in the afternoon of September 1st. The union of two powerful and ancient pureblood families is bound to be crawling with Death Eaters and their supporters. But with that many Death Eaters about it’s unlikely that the event will remain undisturbed.

As such an event comes up what side will you be on?
